What to look for in an agent?

The following are a couple of factors to keep in mind, when looking for the right listing agent.

    1. Education and Experience-These are important factors to take into consideration in choosing a real estate professional. How long have they been a Realtor? How well do they know the area? How many transactions have they done? Opt for a full-time agent, well acquainted with your community and the property type you're selling. Evaluate their use of diverse marketing strategies and technological proficiency. Make sure their marketing strategy includes a professional, digital format.

    2. Communication and Commitment-Your agent should be capable of prompt and decisive action during the course of selling your property. You want an agent that will make it a point to stay in touch with you constantly; an agent that can easily be contacted in case of an emergency or even for the simplest question. Is your agent available on the weekends or in the evenings when questions or issues arise?

    3. Integrity- Take a moment to Google the reviews for the agent that you're considering. What do former clients have to say about their experience with the agent? This will be a good gauge of what to expect during the course of a potential relationship with this person.

    4. Rapport is important. Does your agent take the time to listen to your goals? Does your agent understand your unique situation and are they compelled to have your definition of a successful outcome? Your listing agent will be your guide and partner during this important event. This exercise can be stressful and challenging at times and you need to be confident that your needs are fully addressed. You want to feel the person representing you has only your best interest at heart.
